Established in 1886, Gonnella has maintained a commitment to superior quality bakery products combined with a high standard of customer service for over 125 years. Today, Gonnella crafts over four million pounds of baken goods on a weekly basis in several facilities throughout the Chicagoland area. Originally Gonnella partnered with Americaneagle.com in the creation of an 8-page brochure site. Looking to update their look and solidify themselves as the industry leader, Gonnella turned to Americaneagle.com once more in 2012 for the redesign of their website. Much like the company itself, The Gonnella site has come a very long way.The Gonnella site is now not only a representation of the brand, but also a source of revenue. Utilizing the idev Platform and Content Management System (CMS), the site has the opportunity for consistent growth and development.

Goals

The goal of the new Gonnella site was to update the look and feel and solidify the Gonnella brand as an industry leader. They wanted an online presence that easily conveyed the quality of their bakery products to the B2B market.

Summary

Gonnella was in need of a website development company that not only understands marketing and technology, but was also able to provide a very high level of involvement and support to many different members of the Gonnella team. For this project, Americaneagle.com made extensive use of the idev® CMS, including templates, section templates, and more, to meet Gonnella's business model. The website aligns with Gonnella’s mainly B2B customer base, with light product display, and uses high-impact imagery and banners to convey key messaging points. In addition to the website design and development, Americaneagle.com also provides general marketing and graphic design support to the Gonnella team.

Results

Gonnella has seen significant increases in user traffic, showing a 54% increase from organic search. Consumers are searching and finding the Gonnella website on their own initiative, revealing strong brand awareness in the industry. 48% of users are new site visitors, demonstrating these new consumers are interested in the Gonnella product.
