MilitaryByOwner Advertising founded in January 2000 by Dave and Sharon Gran. Dave proudly served in the Marine Corps and retired after 21 years. MilitaryByOwner provides advertising support to military families trying to find, sell or rent their homes. MilitaryByOwner.com has become the "go to" website for military families finding, selling or renting homes near military bases. The company is located in Stafford, Virginia about 35 miles South of Washington, DC and just outside the Quantico Marine Corps Base.
MilitaryByOwner has been a long time client of ours and are wonderful people to work with. Under this project, we completed a full redesign and development on the iDev ecommerce platform. The new website has many customizations to improve the user experience for property advertisers and for users looking to buy/rent a home. The biggest change from a property advertiser perspective is the manner in which the site will associate property advertisements to military bases. The old site displayed property advertisements based on the three closest bases as identified by the advertiser. The new site uses a base radius control, which associates property locations to a base based on a distance parameter set by the MilitaryByOwner team via the admin tool. The interface for creating ads is much more pleasant and user-friendly and offers a very clear step-by-step process which is mobile friendly. The tool also now allows advertisers to enhance their images via the third party tool, PhotoEditor(cropping, brightning, rotating).
