GLENDORA, Calif. (February, 2009) — NHRA, the world's quickest, fastest, and most intense motorsport, has completed the first stage of the redesign of NHRA.com.
The new-look NHRA.com has a sleeker, more refined appearance that will provide the 2.8 million unique visitors who log on to NHRA.com during an average month with a more interactive and content-driven experience.
"The strategy from the outset was to expand NHRA.com's leadership position as the premier Internet source for drag racing by providing interactive news features, multimedia functions, e-commerce, and other innovative elements," said Gary Darcy, NHRA senior vice president-sales & marketing. "We are excited about the evolution of the Web site in the coming weeks and months ahead for our fans and members as well as improved functionality for the racing community."
The redesigned NHRA.com will continue to serve as a destination site for the Sportsman racing community and integrate the existing divisional and Sportsman Web sites and domains. Those services will continue to include racer registration and special exclusive features only available to NHRA members, such as full weekend access to the live audiocasts.
In addition to the improved design that will give users significantly streamlined navigation, this initial phase of the relaunched NHRA.com features a vastly expanded selection of photo and video galleries and more frequently updated news and blogs.
In the coming weeks and months, additional enhancements will be made to the site, including Full Throttle TV video, a brand-new e-commerce shop, and NHRA Live!, a new component of NHRA.com that will feature real-time results of every pass at every national event.
This relaunch is the culmination of nearly four months of integration between the internal marketing and IT teams at NHRA and the staff at AmericanEagle.com.
The relaunch coincides with the beginning of the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series season, the 49th annual Kragen O'Reilly NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 5-8, at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
