How to Build an Online Community

A great online presence is not only ideal for enhancing ecommerce sales or providing members with valuable information; a strong web presence can also help you build a community.

We are proud to have recently worked with The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Catholic Order of Foresters to design and develop websites that provide a service and engage a community. The site for the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is specifically designed to support an online religious community. The Catholic Order of Foresters site has a dual purpose: a life insurance company offering its services that is committed to fraternal outreach and serving the Catholic community. Read on to find out more about both projects!

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, otherwise known as the Virgin Mary, is located in Des Plaines Illinois and is central to the religious life of many in the local area. The shrine provides numerous services to its congregants, including ministry, religious education and events, and Sunday Mass.

With a large community dependent on it, the Shrine knew it was time to enhance its online presence. The new site allows the Shrine to support its congregants and visitors outside of worship or meeting hours and provides its patrons with readily accessible information and materials. The website is perfectly designed to reflect the community as it’s multilingual, reaching both English and Spanish speaking members.

Catholic Order of Foresters

Catholic Order of Foresters is a life insurance company with strong Catholic values at the heart of its services.

The homepage of the Catholic Order of Foresters site is a testament to the organizational values, with the tagline ‘Bringing Catholic Values to Life’ and the photograph of a happy family across the page. Below the photograph, areas such as ‘Fraternal Outreach’, ‘Feeding God’s Children’ and ‘Life Insurance’ perfectly sum up the site’s ethos and direction.

The site is designed to provide value to its users, with member dashboards and event registration tools that enable the team to better facilitate community events.
