Last week, Americaneagle.com hosted our first live event here in DC: the Association Web Success Luncheon. We gathered local association folks for an early afternoon session focused on Universal Web Design and ADA Compliance down at Carmine’s DC in the heart of the nation’s capital.
To kick things off, our very own Nick Goodrum and Joe Gustafson presented on the benefits of web design with everyone in mind. Your website is the first impression you deliver to members, nonmembers, and the world at large – so how can you make sure it's accessible to all? Roughly 1 in 5 Americans have a disability of some capacity. Though there are not universally adopted, standard compliance laws for web design, doing your due diligence as you’re designing your new website will help to ensure no one is unable to browse and enjoy your site.
After a presentation and robust question and answer session, Carmine’s delivered an outstanding meal to all of the folks in the room. It was a great opportunity to share ideas and take a break from the work day.
Thank you to those that attended and keep a look out for upcoming events in 2018. Interested in learning more about web accessibility and compliance? Download our Eaglevision Magazine.
