In an effort to maximize the customer experience, the new WeatherTech.com focuses on three key solutions — easy navigation and search capabilities, streamlined product pages to facilitate an easy shopping process, and more interactive customer accounts. The improved navigation tools begin immediately on the homepage with a "Start" button that enables site visitors to instantly filter through products according to the designated make, year, and model of their vehicle. On product pages, a split screen layout maximizes page real estate, eliminating the need to dig through text or scroll down the page. Similarly, a tabbed content area within the split screen layout makes extensive use of AJAX and other Web 2.0 technology, enabling users to quickly shift through product videos, instructions, details, and testimonials. In addition, the checkout process has been streamlined through a dropdown shopping cart. This functionality allows the customer to maintain awareness of where they are within the site without being taken to a new page and interrupting their navigation path.
For return site visits, registered customers can personalize their customer account by saving multiple vehicles to make future shopping even easier. A point-based customer rewards program was implemented to promote customer loyalty, allowing customers to accumulate "miles" with each purchase they make. Customers are also encouraged to submit testimonials through a program called "Real Life Experiences." This program allows users to upload pictures and share their personal stories using WeatherTech products. As an incentive, participants have the chance to win one of several $100 gift certificates.
