ALEXANDRIA, VA – January 18, 2011– Americaneagle.com, a leading website design, development and hosting company, today announced that the United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) was recently named one of the five best government websites by Congress.org.
Congress.org, a nonpartisan news and information website, recently compiled a list of the best-designed government websites, citing the United States Election Assistance Commission as the second best federal site on the Web. The list was determined based on the research and findings gathered from Web designers and other Independent professionals in the D.C. area, and ultimately chosen by Congress.org.
The Eac.gov website, recently developed by Americaneagle.com, features many elements that contribute to its success online. Mike Svanascini, President of Americaneagle.com said, "While the EAC is a relatively new federal agency, they came to us looking to develop a site that visitors would instantly associate with elections and where visitors could intuitively navigate the complexities surrounding this essential ingredient to our democratic process. We worked closely with the Election Assistance Commission to develop a website with a conservative, yet compelling professional design. We are excited that it has been recognized for its innovative design by Congress.org."
In addition to its graphic design, the Election Assistance Commission site was also praised for its state-of-the-art functionality. In particular, Congress.org recognized the ability to view the site in seven languages: English, Spanish and five Asian languages. Additionally acknowledged was Eac.gov’s dynamic mapping functionality, which allows visitors to view their local electoral commission with a single click. These and other interactive modules, combined with a comprehensive content management system behind the website, propelled Eac.gov to the top tier of Federal government websites.
