Hackensack UMC Website Wins Distinction in 2012 eHealthcare Leadership Awards

eHealthcare Leadership Awards 2012 WinnerPARK RIDGE, IL – November 30, 2012 – Americaneagle.com received a distinction for its work on hackensackumc.org by the eHealthcare Awards, a leading healthcare industry award presented by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends.

Some 240 healthcare organizations, representing a broad industry spectrum, received recognition for their outstanding websites and digital communications at a special presentation in Las Vegas on November 14 during the Sixteenth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference. Winners of the 2012 eHealthcare Leadership Awards were selected from nearly 1,100 entries. A total of 115 individuals familiar with healthcare and the Internet judged the entries.

"In spite of the unsettled healthcare environment, organizations have accelerated their investment in digital communications," says Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. "Organizations have made major improvements in their websites, increased involvement in social media, more fully integrated newer media outlets with traditional marketing, and expanded mobile efforts to better serve current and future customers."

Judges looked at how websites and other digital communications compared with others in their organization’s classification. They also reviewed entries based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence. The best overall Internet site category, for example, had to pass muster on more than 40 factors.

"The Hackensack UMC website showcases the hospital as a leading healthcare center and offers useful tools for patients and the community at large," said Mike Svanascini, President of Americaneagle.com, of the award-winning site. "Our team, working with Hackensack UMC, successfully implemented a user-friendly site that has a great look and feel while still being highly functional."

HackensackUMC.org features a fresh graphic layout that incorporates custom illustrated imagery and a convenient slider homepage layout. Visitors to the site can find a physician, watch videos, view upcoming events, and read more about the hospital and its services. The site received a "Distinction" in "Best Overall Internet Site (Hospital 400+ Beds)".

Founded in 1888, Hackensack University Medical Center was Bergen County's first hospital. More than a century later, this nonprofit teaching and research hospital has become the largest provider of inpatient and outpatient services in New Jersey.
